WORKING IN MALAYSIA

Malaysia is a country of diverse elements with Malay, Chinese, Indian and European influences, mix of beaches, expansive jungles, lively cities and incredible food. For those teachers that really enjoy Asian food, Malaysia is a foodie hotspot that has something for every taste bud.

The country’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, offers an Asian urban life that has seen an explosion of expats from all industries over the last decade. Malaysia is particularly known for its UK and IB curriculum schools, as they come in abundance compared to other curricula.

With a range of teaching jobs on offer, schools are often looking for teachers with at least two years of experience. Teachers in Malaysia can expect to save whilst living there as the cost of living is low and travel in and around Malaysia is equally as cheap with the local airlines.

Some of the travel highlights that teachers can benefit from are:

  • Mount Kinabalu – Towering peak on protected park land
  • Redang Island – Island with resorts, beaches & diving
  • Batu Caves – Hindu temple set in limestone caves
  • Menara Kuala Lumpur – Landmark tower with panoramic view
